PUMA evoPOWER 1.2 Football Boots

The next generation PUMA evoPOWER football boots were launched this week with the usual fanfare we have all come to expect when one of the big guns launched some new sporting equipment. In a sea of brightly coloured, headache inducing football boots, the latest version of the evoPOWER 1.2 boots are actually one of the best looking boots we have seen this season. A new colourway and a raft of technological design improvements means these could well become one of the most popular boots around. Launched by one of the best performers in the English Premier League this season, and Mario Balotelli, you will be seeing a lot more of these boots across the leagues this weekend.

Light, agile and designed to bend with the foot, the 2015 evoPOWER isn’t just an aesthetics upgrade, it delivers better performance all round. A further enhanced foot-to-ball relationship has been created this time around – so in everyday terms, the boot mimics the principals of kicking a ball barefoot and is now a natural extension of the foot. Got it? Good. An AccuFoam lining and smooth kicking surface creates a larger sweet spot when connecting with a long pass or shot on goal. As well as more accuracy when passing and shooting – we’ll take all the help we can get.

Aside from the technological changes comes the new colour-way. Described as peacoat-white-bright plasma – or navy, white and pink for the average man. Despite the bright pink colour on the heel which is going to act as a beacon for heavy footed defenders coming in for the tackle, the navy and pink colours look brilliant in the flesh. It’s a steady mix between modern out-there styling and reserved classic football boot. We’re big fans of the understated and traditional colour-ways but this peacoat and bright plasma offering has certainly won us over with it’s more balanced look.

Keep an eye out for Cesc Fabregas (and look towards the Liverpool bench for Mario Balotelli), who debuted his new pair in the Capital One Cup Semi-Final this week, and a host of other top PUMA endorsed footballers who will be wearing the evoPOWER 1.2 and evoSPEED 1.3 boots this coming weekend. We will be posting a full review shortly once we have given the boots a thorough test – so stay tuned.
