Top 5: Football on TV in January 2016

We can only apologise for the amount that Liverpool appear! Sorry!

Exeter City vs Liverpool – 8th January 2016

BBC One / 19:55 KO / FA Cup

Everyone loves the magic of the FA Cup and it doesn’t get more magical than a Friday night under the lights in Exeter. Liverpool will be hoping they can get through this round with little fuss so they can firmly get on the road to Wembley. Klopp has had a real mixed bag since arriving at Anfield. A 6-1 demolition of Southampton and a 4-1 victory of Man City has been tainted by back-to-back defeats by Crystal Palace and West Ham. Are we all secretly hoping for an Exeter win?

Real Madrid vs Deportivo La Coruna – 9th January 2016

Sky Sports 1 / 19:30 KO / La Liga

The Bernabeu will be rocking for Zidane’s first game in charge as Real Madrid manager. He takes over a Madrid side who are third in the table behind bitter rivals Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. Over 6,000 people turned out to watch ZZ take his first training session, so it’s safe to say he is a popular choice with the fans. The current crop of ‘galacticos’ will no doubt put on a show for his first game in charge. Well worth a watch in our opinion.

Liverpool vs Arsenal – 13th January 2016

BT Sport 1 / 20:00 KO / Barclays Premier League

A mid-week, Premier League treat for us all to enjoy. Arsenal has been doing their best Arsenal impression all season. Winning some big games, losing some easy games and top of the league at the turn of the year. Now we are heading into the business-end of the season and this is where we will see what the current Arsenal side are really made of. A classic fixture of years gone by, we can only dream of a 4-4 banger from back in 2009.

Liverpool vs Man United – 17th January 2016

Sky Sports 1 / 14:05 KO / Barclays Premier League

Another fixture featuring Liverpool (we’re not Liverpool fans!), but this super Sunday fixture is actually fitting of the bill. Despite the league positions and recent results of both sides, this is still one of the biggest fixtures in the calendar. United won in early 2015 with a much needed 2-1 victory and we’re sure they would pay a lot of money to come away with the same result again.

Arsenal vs Chelsea – 24th January 2016

Sky Sports 1 / 16:00 KO / Barclays Premier League

A second super Sunday fixture in a row! Sky Sports really are spoiling us. Another test of Arsenals credentials will see them up against a resurgent Chelsea side under interim manager Guus Hiddink. Chelsea must put a run of wins together to push them up the table and into the dizzy heights of the top half, while Arsenal will be looking to stride on to the ultimate prize that has eluded them since 2004. Have Arsenal got the balls to beat a big side when it matters?

There we have it, our Top 5 TV Football Matches in January that you really must watch on television!
