Anderson Silva Vs. Patrick Cote
I guess ultimately a bit of a let down, Silva started with his usual slow, feeling out process before landing some good kicks and knees on Patrick. Quite a slow fight for Silva, and he was probably worried about Cote’s knockout power. Into the third round, Cote’s knee gave way with a suspected blown ACL and match was given to Anderson as a TKO. He probably took the first 2 rounds 10 – 9 before the stop.
Josh Koscheck Vs. Thiago Alves
LEG KICK! Alves pretty much dominated Koscheck, my a big shout to Josh who proved his chin is rock solid. Thiago’s kicks were brutal, many times knocking Josh off his lead leg. He caught him with good knees and punches and took the unamimous decision. Don’t forget JK only took this fight on 2 weeks notice. WOW!
Rich Clementi Vs. Gray Maynard
Gray laid on Rich for 15 minutes, wonderful. It was more of a chess match and Rich was dominated by Maynards great wrestling and ground control. The best thing about this fight was the referee telling the guys to ‘let’s work’ constantly and Joe Rogan telling him to shut up!!
Fabricio Werdum Vs. Junior Dos Santos
Werdum was the favourite going into this fight and I had him down for a 2nd round submission, I did not however count on him ducking on to a brute of an upercut that knocked him out cold in the first round.
Sean Sherk Vs. Tyson Griffin
WOWZERS, potentially a stale mate with 2 excellent wrestlers, but they came to entertain and they certainly succedded. Non stop action for 3 rounds, nearly completely stand up. Great fight and Sherk proved he is still up there with the best after beating the strongly hyped Tyson with a unanamious decision.
Thales Leites Vs. Drew McFedries
This fight soon went to the ground and Leites finished Drew with a rear naked choke, I could see that coming from the UK!!!
Spencer Fisher Vs. Shannon Gugerty
Not shown – Spencer Fisher Wins by Submission (Choke) at 3:56 in the 3rd round by triangle.
