Apple is soon going to be giving its headphone line-up a massive upgrade next year, if reports are to be believed. According to Bloomberg, in 2019 Apple’s wireless Airpods headphone will feature noise cancellation and water resistant technology. Not only that the company are also rumoured to be working on an over-ear model too.

Yes, Apple will allegedly be adding a noise-cancellation feature to its AirPods sometime in 2019. According to the same report, the much anticipated and long-rumoured over-ear models were meant to be released back in March 2018 but have been delayed due to difficulties.

Though no prices or images have been released as of yet, it’s thought the AirPods will remain around the same price (£159). Though they will be protected against rain and the like, unfortunately it doesn’t sound like you’re going to be able to swim in them – we’d only lose them anyway!

It’s also said that Apple has also ‘internally discussed’ adding biometric sensors to future AirPods. That would mean the likes of a heart-rate monitor installed, to expand its health-related range beyond purely the Apple Watch.

Along with the new headphones, Apple is reportedly working on a new HomePod model and a wireless charging case, which will be compatible with the upcoming AirPower charger. The current AirPods version will also be refreshed later this year with a new chip and support for hands-free Siri activation.

Earlier this year, Apple revealed a string of new watch bands for Spring, with the tech giant continuing its long standing collaborations with Nike and Parisian label Hermès.
