Consistently one of the most innovative audio makers around, Bang & Olufsen have just unveiled probably their most attractive speakers to date in the BeoSound Shape, a set of modular wall speakers which over immersive sound staging and a unique customisable set-up.
Designed to hang on your wall, the Bang & Olufsen BeoSound Shape speaker is far more than a single speaker. The Shape is a wall-mounted wireless speaker system as much for lovers of art and design as they are for music obsessives.
The modular system incorporates as many as 44 individual speakers and can be constructed into virtually any design to suit any domestic or commercial venue. Unlike any other speaker system, the Shape let’s you define the size, shape, colour – even the sound performance according to your preferences.
The modular tile concept behind the Shape is based on a single geometric shape, the hexagon. Each tile serves a function as either speaker, amplifier or acoustic damper and can be pieced together in endless combinations and sizes, to serve rooms both big and small.
While the design is obviously the main attraction, this is B&O and the sound quality is naturally up to scratch too. Rather than optimising sound for a single fixed position, the Shape distributes signals across the speakers, making the correlated signal appear in the centre from every listening position, offering a near gig-like sound.
Thanks to the BeoSound Core connectivity hub, the Shape can stream music directly from your phone or tablet via Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth, and it’s also part of Bang & Olufsen’s Multiroom Collection which means it can be connected to other speakers in other rooms for a genuine Multiroom experience.
The Bang & Olufsen BeoSound Shape modular speakers are available now over at the Bang & Olufsen Website where prices start at around the £4,000 mark.
