We don’t know about you but we had Season 4 of Black Mirror watched by New Year’s Eve despite only coming out a couple of days beforehand. And one of the more memorable episodes from the latest season featured a dating device which could calculate how long you and your match would last. Well, they’ve only gone and made it!

Black Mirror Have Released the Coach Dating App

Yes, if you started questioning your #relationshipgoals after Valentine’s Day, Black Mirror has created an online version of the ‘Coach Dating’ app from the ‘Hang the DJ’ episode. If you haven’t caught up with Season 4 yet and have no idea what we’re talking about, all you have to do is click the button and it’ll tell you the end time on your relationship.

In ‘Hang the DJ’ a date between Frank (Joe Cole) and Amy (Georgina Campbell) is predicted to not last the night, giving the pair only 12 hours. Frank and Amy think there’s more to it, with the allegory being that there’s only so much you can take from dating apps like Tinder and Bumble – you need to get to know someone and all that.

Naturally the Coach Dating app is just merely a tie-in with the show and shouldn’t be taken seriously. But if you want to freak out your partner, all you have to do is click the designated button. Once the custom link appears, you can send it to your significant other to see the end time on your relationship.

Head over to coach.dating to try out the Black Mirror dating app yourself.
