Drone kings DJI have just announced their smallest drone to date. It’s called Spark and it’s a revolutionary mini drone that fits in the palm of your hand. Its powerful, stabilised camera uses multiple easy-to-use shooting modes for incredibly eye-catching photos and videos.

DJI Announce Their Smallest Drone to Date with Spark

Spark is a mini drone that features all of DJI’s signature technologies, allowing you to seize the moment whenever you feel inspired. With intuitive functions like QuickLaunch, FaceAware, and PalmControl, Spark gives you a truly immersive flying experience.

With FaceAware, Spark lifts off your hand by recognising you. It takes off and hover in place within seconds of powering on. You can also take photos with it by using just hand gestures if the remote control or your paired up smartphone are just too boring.

Editing your footage has never been simpler either with the DJI GO 4 app that features automatic editing templates and an array of filters. Naturally you can also share your quickly edited videos on social media.

One of the more interesting features on the Spark is TapFly mode. Simply tap your phone’s screen and Spark, using vision technology, flies in the direction of your tap or exactly where you tapped while still actively sensing obstacles through its ActiveTrack tech.

The camera of the Spark is unsurprisingly high-performance too featuring a 1/2.3” sensor and a powerful f/2,6 wide-angle lens with a 25mm focal lens. Its 2-axis mechanical gimbal and UltraSmooth technology also dramatically reduces shake and rolling shutter effect, keeping shots stable and detailed.

The Spark can reach speeds of up to 31mph (50kph), even through strong winds, and the battery will keep your drone up in the air for as long as 16 minutes on a full charge. The transmission from your controller will also work from up to 2km away.

Head over to the DJI Website where you’ll be able to get hold of a Spark mini drone for £519. Deliveries are expected on the 15th June 2017.
