Dolce & Gabbana x SMEG Kitchen Appliances

Fresh from an eye-catching line of fridges last year, Dolce & Gabbana has once again teamed up with Italian kitchenware specialists SMEG to release a line of small appliances for the discerning kitchen. Appropriately named ‘Sicily is my Love,’ the collection features the likes of toasters, kettles, coffee machines, and much more. We’ve done a few kitchen product reviews in our time – but we’d never thought we’d see a fashion giant trying to sell toasters.

After the success of the ‘Frigorifero d’Arte’ fridges, SMEG has once again given their appliances a makeover from famed fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. Each item in the ‘Sicily is my Love’ collection has been expertly decorated with quintessential Sicilian motifs; gold lemons and citrus fruits, prickly pears and bold, bright cherries, all of which are framed in traditional triangular Sicilian decorations known as ‘crocchi’.

Each detail featured in the intricate designs links back in some way to Sicily, the home of D&G, and more generally, each model is a celebration of the province’s culinary delights and traditional dishes.

The Dolce & Gabbana x SMEG ‘Sicily is my Love’ collection features toasters, kettles, blenders, juicers, coffee machines, and mixers, and while we know they’ll be available later this year ‘in time for Christmas’, no prices have been given as of yet.

The ‘Frigorifero d’Arte’ fridges, which were released at the end of 2016, apparently took around 240 hours to paint each and subsequently cost around £30,000, so you can expect the smaller appliances to cost much more than your standard kettle from Argos! Head over to the SMEG Website for more details.
