Good news! After yesterdays announcement that Orange will be selling the iPhone from late 2009, it is now Vodafone’s turn to get in on the act.

The deal, announced this morning comes after O2’s exclusive deal with Apple ended, fueling speculation of more widespread availability of the iPhone in the UK. Vodafone hope to be offering the iPhone early in 2010 and have announced you can already register your interest on their website (although we cannot find that link at the time of writing).

Vodafone believe that not having access to the Apple iPhone was a key reason why the operator lost 159,000 customers in its latest quarter and without securing the rights to the iPhone, Vodafone faced the prospect of losing hundreds of thousands of its customers to rivals O2 and Orange.

Now with three operators offering the iPhone in Orange, O2 and Vodafone, expect prices to crash over the Christmas period and into 2010 as everyone clambers for your hard earned cash! Analysts predict you could save over £100 on future iPhone purchases.

Orange have already announced they will under-cut the current deals offered by O2. Virgin Mobile are also understood to be in talks to secure the right to sell the iPhone which could again see further price falls.

What do you think? Will you be making the switch to an iPhone now it is more readily available? My Storm is on Vodafone and I will be tempted though I will hate losing BB messenger!!!

Let us know your thoughts…
