Pebble Time Round

It’s fair to say that 2015 has been a good year for Pebble with the company firmly establishing themselves as one of the leading smartwatch makers on the globe, and now Pebble comes full circle with their latest smartwatch model, Pebble Time Round – the lightest and thinnest smartwatch in the world!
It was announced at the start of 2015 that the original Pebble Time would be sold on crowd-funding site Kickstarter and Joes lost their minds. When it eventually went on sale, Pebble smashed their original target raising more than £1.2 million in the first hour alone.
The Pebble Time Round sports a quite incredibly slender 7.5mm frame. Compare that with the Apple Watch, the LG Urbane and the Moto 360 2, which all stand in excess of 10mm, and you can see why the Round might make some headway. It’s also very lightweight at just 28g.
The Round still keeps the colour e-Ink display, which means you can summon a timeline to keep tabs on your day. It also means you can leave your phone in your bag as the smartwatch will bring notifications, messages, incoming calls, and music controls to your wrist.
There’s a variety of bands available, as well as watch finishes, to suit the preferences of any Joe. You can either get the 20mm or 14mm band size and there’s finish options of either Black, Silver, or a Rose Gold (Pink) edition that’s solely for the 14mm band.
In theory, you shouldn’t ever really have to take your Pebble Time Round off, with days-long battery life, minutes-quick charging (just 15 minutes to get a day’s worth of use), and splash resistance for rainy days.
The Pebble Time Round will work with both iOS and Android and you can reserve one on the Pebble Website with prices starting at £229 and shipping to the UK expected in early 2016. Let’s just hope someone doesn’t make something thinner and lighter by then!
