Polaroid Pop Instant Camera
You may remember last week we told you about Prynt, a new instant photo case for your iPhone. Well, if it only made you pine for the real thing – you’re in luck. Celebrating 80 years of instant images, Polaroid have just announced the Polaroid Pop, a new digital instant camera that creates classic instant Polaroid photos with the aid of Instagram-like filters.
Revealed at CES in Las Vegas, the new Polaroid Pop will be a classic Polaroid camera which produces classic 3×4-inch Polaroid pictures, complete with the iconic white borders. Not only that, the Pop will also be able to edit your photos just like on Instagram.
Thanks to Wireless and Bluetooth technology, the digital camera can be connected wirelessly to smartphones and tablets, where you can edit and polish images with various filters, digital stickers and effects through the Polaroid Print App.
According to the company, which was founded in 1937, the new Pop will feature three colour modes: Black and White, Colour and Vintage Sepia (if you want the real old school look). On top of that, it’ll comes with a timer for selfies and users will also be able to easily upload their pics to Instagram and other social media sites.
This is thanks to the Pop’s 3.97-inch touchscreen LCD on the back. It will also come with a dual LED flash on the front, a 20-megapixel CMOS sensor at the core, as well as features such as image stabilization, 1080p HD video, and microSD card support.
Unlike classic Polaroid cameras and pictures of old, the new Polaroid Pop will use ZINK Zero Ink technology with embedded dye crystals instead of traditional instant chemicals. This means that you’ll get crisper, smudge-free images quicker.
The Polaroid Pop instant camera will available late 2017. There’s no word on pricing or availability yet but keep an eye on the Polaroid Website for more details.
