Lots of rumors are flying aound about what Sony will unveil at the E3 gaming show. Now an updated PSP is pretty likely but new reports say that they may release a new PS3 controller as well, using Wii-like motion technology but apparently much more precise than the Wii.
“Sony’s controller apparently used LEDs (light emitting diodes, essentially little electric light sources) and a small webcam to track the device’s movements,” says Variety’s Cut Scene blog. “Because the camera can read different color lights and the shape and angle of each light, it’s much more accurate than the Wii-mote.”
Rumors have been further speculation in the form of a patent that Sony has already acquired for a motion sensing controller that closely resembles a Wii Remote.
Sony are not the only ones, Microsoft are looking into something similar for the XBOX 360 and Nintendo is gearing up to launch its own Wii remote upgrade, in the form of Wii Motion Plus.
