Samsung Wireless Charging Monitor
We love it when tech companies fuse two seemingly separate technologies into one, possibly just for the novelty of it. One very much in that mould is the new Samsung monitor, which will have the ability to charge your mobile phone wirelessly!
The Samsung SE370 monitor will actually be the industry’s first with an integrated wireless charging function and mean Joes no longer need to hook up wires and ports to charge your phone.
Instead the catchy-named SE370 taps into the Qi wireless charging standard, which supports numerous phones, including unsurprisingly Samsung’s own Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as well as the Microsoft Lumia and others made by LG, Motorola and Sony.
All Joes will have to do is place their phone in the SE370 monitor’s stand area and it will top up your juice automatically. An LED light will pop up to confirm that the device is being charged.
The SE370 will be available in screen sizes of 23.6 inches and 27 inches and offers features designed to make viewing easier on the eyes. According to Samsung, the monitor contains an eye-save mode that will reduce the effects of blue light, which can damage our eyes and also cause sleep disturbances. Interestingly, the eye-save mode will also reduce eye strain by tweaking the picture quality to match your surroundings. Whatever that means!
“Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles,” said Seok-gi Kim, Samsung’s senior vice president for Visual Display Business. “Our customers increasingly rely on mobile devices to obtain information and interact with others; so by doing away with the clutter on their desks, we are helping them to use their mobile devices in a smarter way. Through the integration of wireless mobile charging technology, our innovative SE370 monitor dramatically improves efficiency, convenience and connectivity at home and at work.”
The Samsung SE370 will have a 178-degree wide viewing angle and also boasts a rapid 4-millisecond response time. No dates or prices have been announced yet so watch this space!
