Tesla Introduce Powerbank Portable Charger
Elon Musk and his Tesla company have had quite the week. Not only did they announce a brand spanking new version of the Tesla Roadster sports car and an electric truck which is good for 1,000,000 miles, they’ve also just unveiled a slightly lower key, new portable Powerbank – perfect for charging iPhones, iPads, or any other device that takes a microUSB.
Inspired by Tesla’s supercharger monument at the Tesla Design Studio, the Tesla Powerbank is designed to come with an integrated USB and integrated Apple lightning cable option for all your charging needs. This means an iPhone user can directly plug their iOS device into the Powerbank rather than always having to carry around the Lighting-to-USB cable.
With dimensions of 108mm x 30.5mm x 23.3mm, it’s small enough to fit into your pocket and features a charge status indicator so you know when your device is all juiced up. The Powerbank also has a detachable micro-USB cable with the company claiming it has a ‘high efficiency circuitry to deliver maximum battery capacity.’
Tesla’s Powerbank comes with a single 18650 cell with 3350mAh capacity and an output of 5V/1.5A max. It’s available now over at the Tesla Website for $45 (around £34).
