The Hydro Hammock

While on holiday, there’s two sure ways a Joe can unwind – all you need is a hot tub or a hammock. So why not combine the two? Well, someone has done exactly that! Say hello to the Hydro Hammock!
The durable and portable material it’s made from means the Hydro Hammock can hold soothing hot or cool refreshing water and work as a regular hammock, a hammock hot tub, a portable hot tub liner for sand or snow, or a hammock waterbed.
The Hammock material is a sealed synthetic high-tensile-strength fabric, which means the Hydro Hammock can easily support the weight of 50 gallons of water and two adults, though only apparently only 20 gallons of water are needed for a decent quality bath.
So where does the hot water come from? Don’t worry – you won’t need to keep refilling the kettle! With the Hammock, you’ll also get a water heater system which heats pressure water through your garden hose. It can draw water from a stream or lake, or just recirculate the water in the Hammock so there’s no wastage.
The water heater system is portable and it meets standard checked baggage requirements so you can even take it on holiday with you. The makers also say their working on a solar-powered heater to make things a little greener too. The water heater system can also double up as an outdoor shower if you fancy it.
The Hydro Hammock is being sold on crowd-funding site Kickstarter and is looking to raise $50,000 to take it into production. With 20 days to go, it’s reached only $10,000 so far so could do with your help! Get over to the Hydro Hammock Kickstarter Website where you can get your own from around £170 ($260).
