Well if you havent heard already today sees the release of the latest incarnation of Windows, Microsoft Windows 7.

After Vista was dubbed a failure (though it sold more copies than XP, work that out!), Microsoft is back promising Vista looks with XP performance! Geared towards multimedia and the internet, it has greater support for touch screens, handwriting recognition and to work better with the latest technology.

The operating system will be released in six separate editions. Home Premium and Professional which you are most likely to see, followed by 5 more corporate / special editions such as 64bit. Windows 7 is also tuned to run on Netbooks which have boomed in sales over the past 18 months.

Also look out for a special edition of Family Guy, who have produced a Windows 7 themed TV show that will air in the US on 8 November.

A Home Premium edition of the software will cost £79.99 until 1 January 2010, at which point it will go up to £99.99.

Have you got Windows 7 already? What do you think? Let us know your thoughts?
