Things to Do This Weekend in London
Cocktails in the City
Thursday 5th – Saturday 7th April. £20.
London’s finest weekend-long celebration of drink concoctions kicks off this Thursday with the return of Cocktails in the City! Taking place in the beautiful One Marylebone, the three-day Cocktails in the City showcases the world’s most inventive and original cocktail bars, bringing together the cream of London and the world’s illustrious cocktail culture, all within sipping distance of each other.
Cocktails in the City is a bar-hopper’s paradise, with a village of pop-up bars each bringing their own unique aesthetic, tastings, workshops, games and of course, a plethora of talented mixologists creating out-of-this world cocktails. This year’s line-up includes the likes of The Artesian, Eve Bar, The Gibson, Coupette, Ella Canta, Mr Fogg’s, Mint Gun Club and TT Liquor. Buy your tickets here.

London Games Festival
Thursday 5th – Sunday 15th April. Free.
This Thursday sees the return of the London Games Festival, a gaming extravaganza which takes place across different venues in the capital. There’ll be a whole load of talks and interactive events during the ten-day event, all of which will explore the ever-changing culture of modern gaming.
Highlights this year include ‘Now Play This’ at Somerset House this weekend, as well as the largescale video gaming fair ‘EGX Rezzed’ at Tobacco Dock. If you’ve got young gamers in the family, the Games Character Parade on Saturday 14th April is probably well worth a visit! Check the website for the full programme.
Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester
Northern Vegan Festival
Saturday 7th April. £5.
Whether you’re into or not, vegan food has seen in surge in popularity and quality in recent years. And this weekend, the Northern Vegan Festival is taking over Manchester Central with over 200 stalls filling the space with talks, demos, children’s activities, and most importantly, free samples.
As well as your standard salad-y fare, there’ll also be a huge range of cakes, chocolates, doughnuts, and sandwiches to take away. Naturally there’ll also be a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic substances if your body really is a temple, and on top of that, a great selection of non-food stalls will be at hand selling a wide variety of items including fashion, jewellery, crafts, and skincare products.

Things to Do This Weekend in Norwich

If the long walk to Riverside is just too much to bare, town centre lovers of Norwich listen up! A new independent bowling alley has just opened on Dereham Road and it’s a cracker. The Bowling House opened its doors last week, bringing with it five intimate lanes alongside a menu of incredibly flavoursome dishes and a great selection of beers, wines and cocktails.
Due to its modest size, you can only pre-book one game per person but depending on the night, you can always request more. It’s cheap too with prices starting at just £5.50 a game. Food is incredible too with ‘Snacks’ including the likes of Asian-style Sticky Ribs and Fried Halloumi with chermoula sauce, while larger dishes include Nachos, Burgers and even Seabass for the most discerning of customers!

Things to Do This Weekend in Brighton
Brighton Wine Week
5th – 15th April. Free.
It seems every week there’s an alcohol-fuelled festival going on somewhere up and down the country. And this weekend is no different with Brighton Wine Week. The festival will be taking place at various venues and bars across the city with unique dinners, tastings, and masterclasses going on throughout the ten-day event.
This weekend’s highlight is undoubtedly the Brighton Wine & Tapas Trail with venues across Brighton offering a glass of wine and tasty tapas for just £5 each. Wine Week concludes next weekend with the Brighton Wine & Gin Festival on the 15th April. Check out the full festival listings here.
